Vacation Part 1: A baby shower

Becca & Rolin's baby shower for the soon to be Declan hosted by yours truly and the fantastic Jason; below the spread, some gifts, and the rockin' diaper cake.

The scrumptious cake Jason made. It was supposed to be purple carrot cake but alas, no purple carrots at this time of year. So regular carrots (colored w/ beet juice), toasted pine nuts, raisins, with a marscapone rose water frosting, and marzipan hand made roses...handmade by Jason, of course.

And the roses are garnished w/ mint leaves.

Games included the baby sock toss (toss a dozen baby socks on the ground and see how fast they can be correctly paired!) which contestants got pretty serious about! The differences were by partial seconds! And the guess what powder this is game...no smelling. One of those was baby powder.

And of course the ever grossly enjoyable guess the baby food game. Most people vow to make their own baby food after playing this game.

Some of the contestants all lined up. I love doing a co-ed baby shower; it's just more fun to be inclusive.

We also had a bunch of blank onesies and fabric pens for the guests to design for little Declan. This is Annie drawing a Buddha w/ a sombrero.

The honored lady opening the sweet little gifts.

One of the party favors we got were those little parachute guys that you may remember from being a kid. There those cheap little plastic characters that are attached to string & plastic parachutes that float in just a serene way from wherever they are dropped. There was an animal theme for the decor, so they're all lions, tigers, rhinos, and monkeys. We all had a race at the back balcony.

Our fallen chutes. Luckily the only car we kept hitting was Rolins.

And my tiger. This was our kick off to a much needed vacation.
